Becoming a Dental Provider for the Dental, Vision & Hearing (DVH) Policy
Missouri dentists have an opportunity to help our patients, our practices and the Missouri Dental Association all at the same time. MDIS is collaborating with the Missouri Optometric Association Insurance Agency (MOAIA) to put forth a benefit plan that encompasses dental, vision and hearing.
The next step is to form a network of dental providers in order to better market the plan to employers and individuals. Some highlights of the program are:
- Network will NOT be rented or sold to another carrier.
- MDA Members will be searchable on a provider listing for patients to find.
- Members easily can determine the amount of the patient benefit available.
- Payments processed within 48 hours.
The goal of building the network and selling the DVH product is that we, as members, can get behind and provide a sustainable benefit to us as dentists, but also to patients. I have been involved in MDA legislative affairs for many years, and our agenda always includes some kind of insurance issue. This endeavor won’t eliminate those issues, but hopefully it will offer an alternative type of program we can participate in and support. Become a Participating Provider
As a member of the MDA, you have the exclusive ability to sign up as a Participating Provider by completing the Provider Agreement (Online form or PDF form).
As a provider, you will receive payment from the insurance company on a graduated reimbursement schedule when filing claims with ManhattanLife Insurance Company (MLIC) relative to your usual, customary, reasonable charges (UCR), all subject to a maximum cap per procedure.
Year 1 - 60% reimbursement of UCR.
Year 2 - 70% reimbursement of UCR.
Year 3 & after - 80% reimbursement of UCR.
Patients can select from plans that have a benefit of $1,000 or $1,500 per insured. The coverage is guaranteed issue for ages 18-85 and premiums are very affordable. See below for the schedule that patients will have for their dental coverage by clicking on the image.
